Against the Law

What a way to break the Law under a scorching Sunday afternoon!

If you thought the team really did break some law, you've been fooled! Truth is, the team had a friendly against team Law Society just yesterday, winning it 5-2! The goals came in from four players namely - Yatie who grabbed 2, Shasha, Yi Wen and Bernice. It's good to have the goals pouring in from the midfielders, eh?

It sure was an emphatic win for the team, having won by such a scoreline for the very first time (since the last match of POL-ITE 2007, thrashing newcomers SP 4-1). Despite the fact that it was played on bad combination of bad ground and hot sun, they managed to pull it altogether and make a big win for themselves! The team is sure great, even under the sun! Not to mention that the team has been already training on artificial grass for about a couple of weeks now...

Next up, the team will be having a try-out session come 30th April, Wednesday. Let's see if there will be some good talent spotted!

SLA Fiesta: Pictures Time!

As mentioned, here's how the booth looks like! Half of the soccer field, with all the drawn-up soccer balls, the couple soccer player on each side of the post..

Well, so far into the 2nd day of the SLA Fiesta event, the sport itself has collected a number of guys' name (needless to say) and a few girls' name.

For each girl that comes to the booth to check out the sport group or comes to sign up, they are given a little gift that is kindly and carefully made by the team. Last year was candies and an info-flyer but this year's one is smaller but more interesting! They are given a cloth-peg, in the colors of Republic Polytechnic, together with a drawn up soccer ball and lastly, a small little info piece that is clipped onto it!

It has definitely taken plenty of sacrificed hours from some of the team to do up all this cute little souvenirs but let's hope that it is not thrown away down the bin!

SLA Fiesta

The new year and new term has begun and in recent weeks, the girls have been preparing for the SLA Fiesta, also known as the Student-Life Activities Fiesta. Each Sports/Interest Group are given a booth and they can do whatever they like to their booth, so as to attract the new students to join them.

As for the Soccer girls, they've done up half a soccer field in their booth with the green fragile crease paper for the grass, some cardboard to make up the corner flag poles and goal posts and also raffia strings to make up the goal net! On top of that, to finish it off, the team added some drawn-up soccer balls and a couple soccer player that was placed on the panel as well. It sure did impress some audience though!

More pictures to come!
